Armeo Spring
Armeo Spring is based on an ergonomic arm exoskeleton with built-in springs that support the arm. It covers the entire arm to reduce or eliminate the effects of gravity, allowing the patient to perform more movements that would otherwise not be possible with traditional methods. It includes virtual reality training to enhance the functionality of the affected arm in real-world scenarios. The system provides instant computerized feedback, which is key for evaluating and refining movement. Besides its therapeutic benefits, Armeo Spring also includes assessment components that document objective progress over time.
When combined with other therapies, Armeo Spring can assist the brain in regaining control over arm and hand function—a phenomenon in rehabilitation known as neuroplasticity.
Patients at “Pate” who use Armeo Spring report enjoying the system and wanting to continue. They are curious to discover what movements they can perform and how to maximize their visible recovery. Being able to perform realistic tasks like “cracking an egg,” “picking fruit from a stall,” or “cleaning a window” challenges patients to use only the affected limb in a weightless plane of motion.
ArmeoSpring® allows therapists to adjust the level of difficulty as the patient’s skills improve and to objectively track these changes during therapy. As clinicians, we are excited to have this type of device in our facility. It opens new possibilities for patients who have the potential to regain movement. The research and evidence behind this technology and its use in neurorehabilitation are promising and significantly benefit the patients we serve.
Self-Initiated Movement Therapy
By supporting the arm, ArmeoSpring enables patients to use all their remaining motor functions and encourages them to achieve a higher number of reaching and grasping movements based on specific therapeutic goals.
Since the activity is based on the patient's own movements, this repetitive training leads to faster, more effective results and long-term improvements.
ArmeoSpring позволява едновременно да се тренира с ръка и длан в разширени триизмерно работно пространство с шест степени на свобода.
ArmeoSpring enables training of the hand and arm in an extended 3D workspace with six degrees of freedom, allowing patients to practice movement crucial for therapeutic progress and daily life.
Ergonomic Exoskeleton
The ergonomic and adjustable exoskeleton supports the full arm, from shoulder to hand, and balances the patient’s arm weight.
Built-in sensors record active movements and joint angles during each therapy session.
Motivating Exercises
A wide library of game-like exercises has been developed to improve movement patterns commonly used in daily activities, accompanied by enhanced feedback on performance.
The instant performance feedback motivates patients and helps improve motor abilities, leading to greater independence in daily life and better quality of life.
Objective Assessment
Armeo Spring accurately records patient performance during therapy.
Standardized assessment tools analyze sensor data to evaluate the patient’s specific function, including range of motion. The results can be used to assess and document patient condition and therapy progress, helping optimize future sessions. These results can also be shared with the patient and other caregivers.
